I don't usually cry when I see those people on the streets. This past Sunday my mother and I spotted a woman hardily pushing three loaded shopping carts across the street, under the blazing sun in a ragged tanktop.
I still didn't cry.
I think maybe just the idea of one human, suffering, calling out to someone, somewhere out there just brings the emotions we suppress in our daily lives out to the surface... :] I'm glad you got the DD too. It's hard to find shots like these.
You know, I'm glad this got the DD. I'd never have spotted it on my own and it would have been a shame. This picture has a sense of sadness about it, you can see that the subject has just fallen on hard times. Maybe he's praying for something too better his life, or maybe just for the bus to arrive. Whatever the case is you end up feeling something.
Thank you for pointing that out, it was actually my first thought . I often sit like that and I certainly don't pray. Maybe he could pray for social reforms, though. Don't think much else is gonna do him any good in the long run. Are gods lefties? Lovely shot btw.
